The City At Last Let Me Leave...
Sunday, 11 February 2007
No update for two weeks! Well I made it a solid month of updating every week...it was good while it lasted. Black Maria opened this weekend, to wide acclaim I'm told. The music has changed so much since the last time I did a major upload, so I'm not going to link until I've finished taking stock and archiving the show. But the end product is pretty fantastic.

I've spent most of the past week holed up in bed, and got virtually nothing done. I did a few pieces for More Than What. I plan on finishing one a day this week, so check back frequently. I also started a new tack on Fat Pig, that I'll be continuing on this week.

I've also spent a few hours working on the A Thousand Ships EP, and my own solo full length. The first finished track "Vertigo" is done and up on the jukebox. Enjoy...

Random Bouts of Productivity
Sunday, 21 January 2007
I'm back in town! I had a bright shiny new copy of Cubase 4 waiting for me when I got back, and have already gotten a lot of mileage out of it. I've written close to an hour of music in the past week. Most was for Black Maria, some was for Six Rounds Six Lessons, and I started a few sketches for Speakeasy's Fat Pig. Listen at your own risk; they're all works in progress.

I've also put in some time on the new A Thousand Ships demo. Victor came up this weekend and recorded the rest of his tracks. It's sounding pretty sweet so far. Hopefully I'll have something worth listening to to post by the end of the week. In the meantime I've posted a live recording of "Fermina Daza" from 2004.

The Alley
Saturday, 13 January 2007
Making good on my plan to update once a week! Hooray. Still in Houston. The show has been in previews for the last few days. It's good. Like, really good. Also, pretty cool to be working on a show (even if he's not coming to tech so I wont actually meet him) with Ming Cho Lee. I had most of the day off, and tried to find something to do, but everything downtown was closed other than the bars. So I spent the day inside the hotel working on Black Maria and Six Rounds, Six Lessons.

I'm a little sad to be leaving The Alley earlier than originally planned, but I don't know how much longer I can sit around in Texas doing nothing when my todo list back home gets larger by the hour. Regardless, it was cool seeing Jason Tratta again, and there were a bunch of other awesome folks at The Alley that I'll be sad to leave. Luckily it's a small enough industry that I'll probably see them again soon.

I posted my old cover of Bowie's "As The World Falls Down." I'm thinking about bringing it back as a regular cover I do at shows. It's still one of the better things I've ever done.
